Placement

Within each programme, there are courses that require students to complete a placement (e.g., Practicum, Community Service, Internship). These placements allow students to gain supervised, practical experience.


Requirements Before Placement

  1. Lecturer Role Setup

    • The supervising lecturer must be assigned the Placement Supervisor user role.

    • To assign:
      a. Go to Administration → Edit User
      b. Search for and select the lecturer
      c. In the Other Roles section, tick the checkbox labelled Placement Supervisor
      d. Save changes

  2. Tagging the Course as a Placement Course

    • Go to Training → Placement Manager

    • Select the Courses tab

    • Choose the course from the course bank listing

    • Mark it as a Placement Course and click Save


Placing a Student

  1. Go to Training → Placement Manager

  2. If an institution has requested a student, you can add a placement request.

    • Complete the request form and save.

  3. Otherwise:

    • Go to the Placement tab

    • Use the filter to locate the student

    • Click Place next to the student’s name

    • Complete the placement form and click Add a Request

    • Select the added request and click Save


After Placement

  • Once the student is placed:

    1. The placement course will be automatically scheduled and published for the assigned supervisor.

    2. The student is then required to register for the placement course to complete the registration process.


Lecturer Access

  • After placement and course publication, the student will appear under the Placement tab on the Lecturer Portal (My Courses page) for the assigned supervisor.
