How to Configure a CXC Type Programme

iSIMS can be configured to allow applicants to apply for CXC subjects and manage the programme accordingly.

Step 1: Create a CXC Programme Award Type

  1. Go to Maintenance > Programme Award Type.

  2. Create a new award type.

  3. Tick the CXC/GCE checkbox.

  4. Save the award type.

Step 2: Create Programme and Programme Offering

  1. Create and publish a programme with the CXC award type.

  2. Create and publish a programme offering for this programme.

    • Use a name and description that clearly indicates this is the option for applying for CXC subjects.

    • After creating the programme offering, click the Courses button to the right of the programme.

    • Instead of attaching courses, attach the subjects you want applicants to choose from.

Step 3: Publish and Review

  • Ensure all required subjects are attached.

  • Review the offering details.

  • Publish the offering with a future application deadline date.

  • This will allow applicants to apply for the subjects.

Step 4: Applicant Subject Selection

  • During the application process, when applicants select the CXC programme, they will be presented with the list of subjects.

  • Applicants must select at least one subject to continue with their application.

Tuition Fees

  • Tuition fees for CXC programmes are configured per subject rather than at the programme level.

  • This configuration can be customized per institution.

System Behavior

  • All other features of the system for this programme operate the same way as any other programme in iSIMS.
