Modify Published Programme Offering

Modify Published Programme Offering

Introduction

Once a Programme Offering has been published, it becomes visible for scheduling, applications, and registration. At this point, editing is no longer done on the creation page. Instead, changes must be made using the Modify Published Offering option.

When to Use This Option

Use Modify Published Offering if you need to:

  • Update programme details after publishing.

  • Reopen a previously closed or adjusted offering.

  • Correct errors made in the initial setup (e.g., grading scale, matriculation rule).

?? Note: Only administrators with the appropriate permissions can modify a published offering.

Steps to Modify a Published Offering

  1. Navigate to Programme > Modify Published Offering.

  2. Use the search and filter options to locate the published programme offering you want to adjust.

  3. Click Edit on the relevant programme offering.

  4. Make the necessary updates.

  5. Click Save to apply the changes.

Critical Points to Note

  1. Grading Scale

    • Changing the grading scale after publishing may affect grade calculations for existing courses. Make changes carefully.

  2. Schedule Type

    • Adjustments to the period/schedule type (semester or cycle) may require updates to scheduling and registration.

  3. Cross Registration & Matriculation Rules

    • Updates to these settings can directly affect applicant eligibility and student course registration.

  4. Notifications

    • Some modifications may trigger system notifications to Registry, Academic, or Account groups (depending on the type of change).

Publishing vs. Modifying

  • Before publishing: Editing is done on the Create Programme Offering page.

  • After publishing: Editing is done via Modify Published Offering.

  • Re-publishing: If major changes are made, the system may require re-publishing the offering for them to take effect.
