Updating the Name of a Published Programme
Changing the Name of a Published Programme
1. Overview
iSIMS allows authorized users to change the name and other details of a published programme. Because published programmes may already be associated with applications, students, registrations, offerings, courses and academic records, this function should be used with extreme care.
This guide explains how to temporarily deactivate a published programme, make the required changes, and then reactivate the programme.
?? IMPORTANT – USE WITH EXTREME CARE
Changing the name or other information of a published programme can affect information displayed throughout iSIMS.
In particular, changing the programme name will also update the programme name associated with its offerings.
Users should ensure that the change has been properly reviewed and authorized before proceeding.
If you are unsure whether a programme should be modified, contact iSIMS Technical Support before making any changes.

Programme Offerings
When the name of a programme is changed, the name of the associated programme offerings will also be updated to reflect the new programme name.
Users should therefore be aware that this change is not limited to the programme record itself.

Confirm that the correct programme has been selected.

Verify the exact spelling and format of the new programme name.

?? FINAL WARNING
Please use this feature with extreme care.
A published programme may already be associated with students, applications, registrations, programme offerings and academic records. Changes to a published programme can therefore have broader implications within iSIMS.
Do not make changes unless you are certain that the change is required and has been properly authorized.
If you are uncertain about the impact of a change or require assistance, contact iSIMS Technical Support before proceeding.
