Create / Edit Course

Introduction

A Course is the basic building block of a programme. Each course represents a unit of study with defined credits, assessment weighting, and grading requirements.

Steps to Add or Edit a Course

  1. Navigate to Programme > Create/Edit Course.

  2. Complete the course form with the required details.

  3. Click Save.

  • To edit an existing course (before publishing), use the same Create/Edit Course page.

Points to Note

  1. Course Code

    • A code is mandatory and serves as the unique identifier for the course.

  2. Credits

    • Ensure the correct credit value is entered.

    • ?? Incorrect credits will lead to incorrect GPA calculations.

  3. Weighting

    • Enter the correct weighting for Coursework and Examination.

    • If you intend to capture grades based on modules:

      • Set 0 for Coursework and Examination weighting.

      • The system will then allow you to add modules and specify their weightings.

  4. Require Grade

    • If a course does not require a final grade (e.g., placement-based courses such as Community Service), select the appropriate option.

Publishing

  • Once a course is created, it must be published before it can be added to a Programme Map.

  • ?? After a course is published, it cannot be modified.
