Student Account Activation

Introduction

Student account activation in iSIMS allows applicants or students to access the system once their account is eligible.

?? Only students whose institution uses the iSIMS authentication method need to activate their account manually.
If iSIMS is integrated with Google or Microsoft, accounts are automatically created, and a notification email is sent.


Eligibility for Activation

  • Students can only activate their account after their application reaches a specified status, usually after acceptance.

  • Attempting to activate before the required status will not allow access.


Steps for Account Activation

  1. Ready to Receive Activation Email

    • Once the application reaches the required status, students will receive an activation email or an acceptance letter with activation instructions.

  2. Click the Activation Link

    • Open the email or acceptance letter and click the activation link.

  3. Complete the Activation Form

    • The link opens an activation form.

    • Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the validation process.

  4. Login to iSIMS

    • After successfully completing the form, the account is active.

    • Use your registered email and password to log in.


Points to Note

  1. Automatic Accounts

    • For institutions integrated with Google or Microsoft:

      • Accounts are created automatically.

      • A notification email is sent to the student.

      • No manual activation is required.

  2. Activation Link Expiry

    • Activation links may have an expiry period.

    • If expired, contact the administrator to request a new link.

  3. Account Lockout

    • Multiple failed login attempts may temporarily lock the account.

    • Students will receive a notification and may need admin assistance to unlock.

  4. Status Dependency

    • Accounts cannot be activated until the application reaches the specified status (usually “Accepted”).
