Create Programme Offering

Introduction

A Programme Offering represents a specific instance or cohort of a programme (e.g., the 2025 intake of a B.Sc. in Information Systems). Programme offerings are required before applications, scheduling, and registration can occur.

Steps to Create a Programme Offering

  1. Navigate to Programme > Create Programme Offering.

  2. Complete the form with the required information.

  3. Click Save.

Critical Points to Note

  1. Grading Scale

    • Ensure the correct grading scale is selected.

    • ?? An incorrect scale will result in incorrect grade calculations.

  2. Period / Schedule Type

    • Select how courses are offered:

      • Semester-based (e.g., Semester 1, Semester 2)

      • Cycle-based (ad hoc periods such as a day, multiple days, week, or even month)

  3. Programme Version

    • This is a list of previously published programme offerings.

    • In some cases, it may also include versions approved by governing bodies (e.g., CCCJ).

  4. Matriculation Rules

    • A set of rules/requirements used to determine if applicants meet the programme’s entry requirements.

    • Please review the Matriculation Rules documentation before creating a programme offering.

  5. Cross Registration

    • Allows students in this programme to register for courses offered to students in another programme or cohort.

  6. Institution

    • This option is used when creating a customized programme (e.g., for a partner institution or corporate training).

Editing and Publishing

  • If the programme is not yet published, you can edit it on the same page where it was created.

  • To publish a programme offering, go to Programme > Publish Programme Offering.

  • Once published, all edits must be done using Programme > Modify Published Offering.

Next Steps

Once the programme offering is successfully created, you will be able to:

  • Add courses to the programme.

  • Define specializations where applicable.
