System Settings and Integration

Introduction

The System Settings module in iSIMS allows administrators to configure system-wide settings, manage governing bodies, and integrate external systems. This is the central area for controlling system behavior and ensuring iSIMS is correctly configured for your institution.


Accessing System Settings

  1. Navigate to Administration > System Settings.

  2. You will see multiple sections, including:

    • System Configuration – General system options and defaults.

    • Governing Body Settings – Manage rules, permissions, and policies specific to governing bodies.

    • Integration Settings – Configure integration with external systems (e.g., Google, Microsoft, payment gateways).

    • Other System Settings – View or adjust additional system-related options such as notifications, grading scales, and program defaults.


Key Features

  1. System Configuration

    • Modify general system parameters, such as default statuses, date formats, and auto-processing rules.

  2. Governing Body Management

    • Add or update governing bodies.

    • Assign permissions, notifications, and access control to governing body users.

  3. Integration Settings

    • Set up integrations with external platforms, including:

      • Email systems (Google, Microsoft, SMTP)

      • Single Sign-On (SSO)

      • Payment gateways

    • Verify integration connectivity and test configurations.

  4. Other System Settings

    • View and manage settings for:

      • Notifications

      • Grading scales

      • Programme defaults

      • Cross-registration rules


Points to Note

  • Changes in System Settings may impact multiple users across the institution.

  • Only administrators with appropriate permissions can modify integration and governing body settings.

  • Always verify integration settings after configuration to ensure seamless operation with external systems.
