iSIMS Payment Options

iTech Innovations Limited did an assessment on all the option available for students to make payment to the institution. The following are the options assessed:

  1. Payment through the Bank Online Portal (NCB and Scotia was reviewed and assessed)
  2. Credit Card Payment using iSIMS
  3. Swipe Card Machines
  4. Voucher Payments
  5. Payment by Cheque or Cash

 

Payment through the Bank Online Portal

Both the National Commercial Bank (NCB) and the Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) offers the option for Business customers the ability to their client to make bill payment using their online platform. The student or the person making the payment on the student account is required to add a Bill Payee (HEART Trust/NTA or VTDI). After selecting the payee, you will are required enter the Account number (Student ID Number) in which you want to make the payment to.

When this option is used, the downloaded excel file will contain the necessary detail for iSIMS to apply the payment to the correct student.

 

Credit Card Payment using iSIMS

With this option, students or the person making the payment on behalf of the student can use their credit card (Visa and Master Card) to make a payment on the student Account.

For NCB card holders, the person making the payment may be required to register their credit card on iSIMS as a security feature. Card registration is use to verify that the person making the payment is the owner of the card. Card registration is only required once per student.

When this option is used, iSIMS will be updated automatically and no further action is required. The downloaded excel file from the back will contain all the relevant data for iSIMS but these payment will not be uploaded as iSIMS would be the source of these payment.

 

Swipe Card Machines

This option requires the cashier to enter the payment in iSIMS manually. The downloaded excel will not contain any information about the student. These payments will be ignored by iSIMS

 

Payment by Cheque or Cash

This option requires the cashier to enter the payment in iSIMS manually. The downloaded Excel will not contain any information about the student. These payments will be ignored by iSIMS

 

Voucher Payments

With this option, the accuracy of the data entered by the bank depends on the teller. If the information is entered correctly by the teller, iSIMS will be able to apply the payment to the correct student. If the information not entered or is incorrect, iSIMS will not uploaded these payments.

 

Please note that there will be other payments in the downloaded Excel which will be ignored by iSIMS. You are required to contact your Account Manager at the bank for more detail on the options available.
